Craig qualified BDS in 1986 from Glasgow taking up his current NHS consultant post at Manchester in 2002. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry, Associate Dental Postgraduate Dean for Specialist Training and Director of Education for Manchester Dental Education Centre.

Craig is the clinical lead for Central Manchester in Oral Rehabilitation of Oral Oncology patients and was one of the national assessors for the National Cancer visits in 2009. He is an ISFE, MRD and Diploma in Implant Dentistry Examiner as well as sitting on the Council and Education Board of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow.

Craig’s clinical interests include dental implants (surgical placement and restoration) and fixed and removable prosthetics. He is currently involved in an extensive research programme involving Implants and implant retained prosthetics.

Craig was one of the first clinicians placing and restoring dental implants in the UK.

Craig has published over 30 refereed papers, written three books and has lectured both nationally and internationally.
